Tube Sheet Generator
Generate tube sheet hole patterns for heat exchangers, preview the layout, and export DXF or STEP files directly from the browser.
Open utility
What it does
- Builds square or triangular pitch patterns inside a circular tube sheet
- Shows a live 2D preview with optional pass partitions
- Exports DXF for 2D layouts and STEP for 3D solids
Inputs you control
- Tube sheet diameter, thickness, and edge margin
- Tube diameter, pitch, and layout pattern
- Pass count, partition width, and orientation (visual guide)
Output notes
- DXF export includes the tube sheet outline and all tube holes.
- STEP export runs on WebAssembly in the browser; large hole counts may take longer.
Assumptions & standards
- Standards basis: Geometric layout tool for square and triangular pitch patterns commonly used in heat exchanger fabrication; it does not implement a specific design code.
- Key assumptions:
- Nominal hole and pitch dimensions without drilling tolerances.
- A flat, circular tube sheet with a uniform edge margin.
- Pass partitions are a visual layout guide, not a hydraulic or mechanical design feature.
- Limitations:
- No tube sheet thickness, ligament stress, or tube-to-tubesheet joint calculations (e.g., per TEMA, ASME VIII, or EN 13445) are performed.
- Tube count optimization for baffles, impingement plates, or shell-side clearances is not covered.
- Thermal design and vibration analysis are out of scope.
- ⚠️ The Tube Sheet Generator provides preliminary sizing support. Results must be verified by a qualified engineer against the governing code edition and the project specification before manufacturing or purchase.
